Before/After shots

HOORAY! It's done!!!! After MONTHS, even years of waiting, this project is done!

Ha! You thought this was going to be about the Pirate room, didn't you? Sorry! No, this is a bathroom remodel that Dean started four (that would be 4) years ago. Well, lets be fair. First, four years ago, we gutted the shower because the tiles were falling off the walls. But once that step was done, the bathroom just sat like that for t.h.r.e.e. years.

Then last year we had a big event planned here, and we really needed to get that project done! Well, there were a lot of other projects that needed to be done too. So, while the tile work was *started*, that's as far as it got.

Then began the talk of moving Angela to the basement bedroom, and Dean really wanting this bathroom done. Finally he get the bug!

I have to say I'm so very proud of him. He's never done tile work like this before, and he did a fantastic job. Not only did he do all the plumbing and tile work, but he even put in glass block! It looks fantastic! So, without further ado, here are the before/after pictures. (remember you can click on the pictures to make them bigger.)

Once the shower was gutted, it soon became the "hide it in the shower" place! IT wasn't long before the bathroom was completely unusable. It's so expensive to remodel a bathroom, even when doing it yourselves, so this sat for a long time before we had the funds to get it done.

Could this old sink be any more disgusting? UGH! I hated that thing!

Dean, working hard on the tile. (I think he secretly enjoyed it.)

More of the shower. I love the look of the tumbled stone.

FINISHED!!! He's a shot from the shower looking into the main part of the bathroom.

And a shot of the glass block wall. Didn't he do a wonderful job?
